Tempest states a burst strength above 600 psi, 50 % over ARP 1400, and applies a solid lubricant to the gasket, so no oil or DC4 compound is needed at installation. The bypass valve meets the Continental (TCM) bypass specification of 12–14 psi.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eTempest recommends 16–18 ft-lb (22–24 N·m) or hand-tight plus a quarter turn, and replacement at the engine manufacturer's interval, otherwise every 25 to 50 hours.
