The oil already contains an anti-wear additive equivalent to Lycoming LW 16702, so no LW 16702 is added; Shell states that it complies with FAA AD 80-04-03 R2 p.1b as an alternative method of compliance. Shell lists it as qualified for all Continental liquid- and air-cooled aircraft piston engines and against Lycoming 301F, Service Bulletins 446E and 471B, Service Instruction 1409C and Continental SIL 99-2.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eIt is compatible with other approved aircraft piston engine oils.
