The tubular structure keeps weight and drag low and reduces rotor downwash loads, and the antenna is DC grounded for lightning protection. The set weighs 1.75 lb (0.79 kg) maximum and is 5.25 in (133 mm) high, with Delrin mounts and an aluminum towel bar in white polyurethane enamel. Installation on a certified aircraft needs an approved modification and a Certificate of Release to Service.
