elt-1000
Artex ELT 1000 ELT 8201, Beacon and Battery Only

Artex ELT 1000 is an automatic fixed (AF) emergency locator transmitter for 121.5 and 406 MHz with a single antenna output. After activation, the 406 MHz transmitter sends a coded message to Cospas-Sarsat about every 50 seconds for 24 hours; the 121.5 MHz homing signal lasts at least 50 hours. The battery pack has two D-size lithium sulfur dioxide cells (5.9 V, 7.5 Ah) with a six-year useful life. P/N 8201 is the transmitter A3-06-2749-1 with its battery pack, without mounting tray, antenna and remote switch.

A 2.3 g G-switch activates the ELT automatically; manual activation is possible on the unit or from a cockpit remote switch, and the ELT cannot be disarmed from the cockpit. The built-in RS-232 navigation interface needs no aircraft power and accepts NMEA 0183 or Aviation protocol data, depending on the programming.

For a complete installation, the Artex equipment list adds the mounting tray with install kit A3-06-2758-1, an approved antenna, the coax cable, a 2-wire or 5-wire remote switch and the external buzzer 452-6505. The ELT 1000 holds FAA TSO-C126b and EASA ETSO-C126a. An aircraft registered in an EASA state needs approved installation data for the type and a release to service after installation. Fit depends on the aircraft type and the ELT 1000 parts already installed. An order needs the state of registry and the registration or 24-bit address for coding.
