fs-450
JPI FS-450 Fuel Flow Indicator

JPI FS-450 is a fuel flow indicator with a red digital display for a 2¼-inch (57 mm) panel hole. Versions differ by transducer and fuel system: pump-fed engines up to 60 GPH, gravity feed, pressure carburettor with return line, Rotax engines (2–30 GPH), high flow up to 120 GPH, or the indicator and harness without a transducer. The upper readout always shows fuel flow, the lower one fuel used, fuel remaining and time to empty.

A GPS on RS-232 adds the fuel required and the reserve at the next waypoint or destination. The unit runs on 10 to 35 V DC at 0.2 A, adapts to 14 V and 28 V systems and is 1.5 in (38 mm) deep without connectors. Flow accuracy is 2 % or better under TSO-C44b.

The transducer position depends on the fuel system and the version. TSO-C53a Type C or D hoses and fittings are not included. FAA STC SA00861SE covers the US Approved Model List only and is not an EASA approval. An EASA aircraft needs an approved modification and a Certificate of Release to Service. Fit depends on the aircraft type and the engine model.

J.P.
