It shows EGT and CHT for every cylinder together with RPM, manifold pressure, fuel flow, oil temperature and pressure, outside air temperature, bus voltage and percent power. It is a non-primary instrument: the aircraft's primary engine instruments remain and take precedence.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eFunctions include LeanFind with peak detection rich and lean of peak, normalize view, EGT spread, shock cooling and programmable alarms. Engine data is recorded and downloads to a USB memory stick; a serial port exchanges navigation and fuel data with a GPS. The instrument mounts in portrait or landscape orientation and adapts to 14 V or 28 V automatically. Kits EDM-830-4C, -6C, -7C, -8C and -9C cover four- to nine-cylinder engines, each with the harnesses, power connector and mounting clamp.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eInstallation follows JPI Report No. 103 under FAA STC SA2586NM for the aircraft on its master eligibility list; a US STC is not automatic EASA approval. A certified aircraft needs an approved modification and a Certificate of Release to Service.
