The light runs in one colour at a time; powering both modes together damages the unit. A blue sync lead synchronises the flashes of several RedBaron Combo lights. No separate strobe power supply is used, and existing strobe or beacon power supplies are removed before installation. An NTC circuit reduces current and brightness at high internal temperature, and the light has over-voltage and reverse-polarity protection.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eAveo specifies M5 × 70 mm stainless steel mounting screws at 1.5 Nm and two ferrite chokes on the leads close to the light base. Installation of the ETSO article needs separate approval: a certified aircraft needs an approved modification and a Certificate of Release to Service. The light is inspected annually or every 100 hours.
