AeroShell Fluid 41 is a superclean mineral aircraft hydraulic fluid to MIL-PRF-5606, DEF STAN 91-48 Grade Superclean and NATO H-515, for systems that require a mineral hydraulic fluid. Shell rates it for −54 °C to +90 °C unpressurised and −54 °C to +135 °C pressurised.
The fluid is dyed red and contains additives for low-temperature fluidity, anti-wear, oxidation and corrosion inhibition and shear stability. Typical values: viscosity 14.3 mm²/s at 40 °C and 460 mm²/s at −40 °C, flash point 95 °C. It is for systems with synthetic rubber components and must not be used with natural rubber. It is compatible with the other AeroShell hydraulic fluids; chlorinated solvents must not be used to clean its components.
