Housing, studs and connector

Housing, studs and connector

The housing is white ASA polymer, and the antenna uses the standard two-stud mounting with a female BNC connector.

The antenna is rated for speeds up to 350 mph (304 kt) and altitudes up to 50 000 ft.

Alternative to the RAMI AV-74 and Comant CI-105

AS-AV-74 matches the RAMI AV-74 in band (960–1220 MHz), impedance (50 Ω), VSWR (1.5:1 maximum), connector (female BNC), power capacity (2.5 kW peak) and two-stud mounting. RAMI built the AV-74 to replace the Comant CI-105, a transponder and DME antenna for the same band.

The stud length of the antenna being replaced needs to be checked before ordering.

Installation in certified aircraft

In an aircraft with an EASA type certificate, installation follows the EASA route: an approved modification and a Certificate of Release to Service. The installer needs to confirm that the antenna is acceptable for the aircraft and the transponder, ADS-B or DME unit before ordering.
