Electronics International FP-5L is a digital fuel flow computer for piston-engine aircraft in a 2¼ in (57 mm) flush-mount case. It shows fuel flow with 0.1 GPH resolution, fuel used, fuel remaining, time to empty and percent horsepower. Flow is selectable in US gallons, imperial gallons, litres or pounds.

Four pilot-programmable fuel alarms and a recurring fuel-used alarm for tank changes are included. An RS-232/422 input from a panel-mount or handheld GPS adds fuel to destination, fuel reserve and miles per gallon; an RS-232 output sends fuel data to a compatible GPS. Package FP-5L-60-NP contains the instrument, wire harness and an FT-60 flow transducer for engines up to 350 HP with an engine-driven fuel pump. Gravity-feed systems and engines above 350 HP need the FT-90; this package has no fuel pressure transducer.

The FAA STC SA00068SE approves the FP-5L as a secondary instrument only; original fuel instrumentation stays in the panel. A pressure carburetor with a fuel return line needs an FFDM-1 module. A US STC is not EASA approval: a certified installation needs an approved modification and release to service. Fit depends on the aircraft type, the engine and the fuel system.
