Garmin GTX 335DR is a remote-mounted Mode S transponder with 1090ES ADS-B Out and antenna diversity; it has no display or keypad of its own. It transmits 250 W nominal through a top and a bottom antenna, runs on 9–33 V DC and operates up to 55,000 ft without external cooling. It is certified to TSO-C112e Class 1 Level 2dens and TSO-C166b Class B1 and supports Elementary and Enhanced Surveillance.

The GTX 335DR has no internal GPS; ADS-B Out needs an approved external GPS position source. The transponder is controlled from a Garmin GTN 6XX/7XX or GNS 480 navigator or from a G950/G1000, G1000 NXi, G2000, G3000 or G5000 flight deck. CS-ACNS requires antenna diversity for aircraft above 5,700 kg MTOM or 250 kt cruise speed.

All three P/Ns are Garmin standard kits with unit, mounting rack, connector backplate, connector kit and configuration module: 010-01774-01 for the standard remote mount, 010-01774-02 for the vertical remote mount and 010-01774-03 for the G1000 mount. Antennas are not included. The Garmin installation manual contains the CS-ACNS compliance matrix for ELS, EHS and ADS-B Out; a certified installation needs an approved modification for the aircraft type and a Certificate of Release to Service. Fit depends on the aircraft type, the controlling display and the GPS position source.
