Winter 7 FMS 221, item 7221, is a pitot airspeed indicator in a 57 mm case with a 0–250 km/h range on a 360° scale with linear graduation; the dial reads from 30 to 250 km/h. The small standard case suits panels with limited space. The instrument needs 57 mm behind the panel and weighs 0.075 kg.
An open diaphragm cell measures the difference between total pressure and static pressure, and a linkage and gear train drives the pointer. Indication error at room temperature is ±2 km/h up to 100 km/h and ±3 km/h above. The dial has white markings on matt black, with zero at the 6 o'clock position as standard. The same instrument in mph is item 7222 and in knots item 7223.
Winter supplies the new instrument with an EASA Form 1 and installation instructions. It mounts in a 57 mm panel hole with M4 screws on a 67 mm bolt circle. A leak test is required before first use and at least every 2 years. Item 7221 is the version without colour marking; colour-marked versions take the part number from the aircraft manufacturer's documents or Winter. Fit depends on the aircraft type and the required colour marking.
