Aerox AV54G is the A-size cylinder and valve assembly with pressure gauge for the Aerox 400 series portable oxygen system. The aluminium cylinder holds 6 cu ft (170 L) of oxygen and is 11.5 in (292 mm) long with a diameter of 3.25 in (83 mm). The assembly has an ON/OFF valve and a cylinder pressure gauge.
Aerox supplies the assembly as a spare cylinder: the regulator is removed from one cylinder and fitted to the spare by hand, without tools. For the A to M cylinder sizes, the 400 series uses the 400R1, 400R2, 400R4 and 400R6 regulators (P/N 4110-077-01 to -04) for one, two, four or six users. The 400 series cylinders are DOT 3AL/TC with unlimited service life and a hydrostatic test every five years; the high-pressure components are made of brass.
The cylinder is filled to 2,000 psi through the standard CGA 540 fitting with aviator's breathing oxygen to MIL-PRF-27210. Regulator, cannulas and masks are separate items. In flight the cylinder must be restrained in the aircraft. Fit depends on the regulator in use.
