Kannad Ameri-Fit Pack AF Evo, P/N 1002828, is a retrofit pack built around the Integra AF automatic fixed emergency locator transmitter, type ELT(AF); Kannad created the Ameri-Fit packs to replace Ameri-King AK-450 and AK-451 series ELTs. The ELT transmits on 406.037 MHz at 5 W for 24 hours and on 121.5 MHz for homing for more than 48 hours. A built-in GPS receiver puts the position into the 406 MHz message, and a built-in back-up antenna takes over the 406 MHz transmission when the external antenna is not available.
The pack contains the transmitter, a TSO-C126b mounting bracket, an RC103 remote control panel (P/N S1820513-25), a DIN-12/RJ11 adapter cable and an RJ11 coupler. A mechanical G-switch activates the ELT in a crash; manual activation is from the remote control panel or the ARM/OFF/ON switch on the unit. The external antenna and the 50 Ω coaxial cable with BNC connectors are not part of the pack.
The transmitter is approved to ETSO-C126a and TSO-C126a, and to TSO-C126b with the draw-latch bracket. In EASA aircraft, the installation is an approved modification followed by a Certificate of Release to Service. Fit depends on the aircraft type. An order needs the country of registration and the identification for 406 MHz programming.
