Garmin 010-02304-00 is the backup battery for the GI 275 electronic flight instrument (unit P/N 011-04528-00), supplied separately from the indicator. The lithium-iron battery pack is fitted inside the GI 275 under a cover plate held by captive screws, before the unit goes into the instrument panel. It is charged from the aircraft electrical system and powers the essential display sensors for at least 60 minutes; it does not back up engine indication sensors and pages.
The battery is required when the GI 275 serves as a standby indicator without a power source independent of the aircraft primary electrical system; in other installations it is optional. When the battery is enabled in the GI 275 configuration, the unit requires a battery rundown test. The pack weighs 145 g and measures 60.0 × 66.0 × 28.7 mm. Fit depends on the GI 275 unit P/N and its role in the panel.
