Champion REB37E is an aviation spark plug with a two-electrode massive design and nickel-alloy electrodes, an 18 mm mounting thread, 13/16 in (20.6 mm) reach and a 5/8-24 harness thread (shielded). Its heat rating is 37 on the Champion scale, on which lower numbers denote colder plugs. The plug has a built-in resistor and a 7/8 in hex; Champion Aerospace lists an electrode gap of 0.016–0.021 in.
Champion’s application guide AV-14 lists the REB37E for Pratt & Whitney R-1830, R-2000, R-2800 and R-4360 radial engines, the Allison V-1710, the PZL ASz-621R and long-reach Lycoming installations such as the IO-320-C/-F, TIO-360-A/-B and TIO-540 series, among others. Champion bases these listings on FAA-approved data and notes that later service bulletins can change them; the plug list approved by the engine manufacturer decides. Fit depends on the engine model.
