True Blue Power TI2004 is a static inverter that converts 28 V DC aircraft power (20–36 V DC) into 2,000 VA of single-phase 115 V AC at 400 Hz. The output is a pure sine wave with less than 3 % total harmonic distortion for aircraft systems and equipment rated for 115 V AC, 400 Hz. Efficiency is 93 %, input current 80 A at 28 V DC and full load, and the unit is certified to TSO-C73 with the 115 V / 400 Hz output defined in that standard.
Protection covers input transients, overload and short circuit, with low-voltage shutdown and a self-resetting over-temperature disable. A remote on/off input and a fault output are provided. Three units can be linked over RS-485 to form a three-phase system. Two internal fans cool the unit, so no external cooling is required; output power is limited at high altitude and temperature.
The 3.49 kg unit (305 × 161 × 88 mm) is base-mounted in any orientation with four ¼-20 screws, inside or outside the pressure vessel. The mating connector 9018784-1 and cable clamp 9018550-2 are separate items. A certified aircraft needs an approved modification for the installation and a Certificate of Release to Service. Fit depends on the aircraft type and the AC loads to be supplied.
