Garmin 115-00846-10 is the doubler plate for teardrop-footprint antennas: the GA 35 GPS/WAAS through-hole antenna and the GA 55 and GA 56 stud-mount antennas. The plate has sixteen rivet holes and weighs 0.04 kg. Garmin accepts it as an alternative to a fabricated doubler for skins from 0.032 in to 0.063 in; in skins up to 0.049 in only the rivets shown in the installation figures are required, set as MS20426AD4 flush rivets.
In a non-structural installation the plate supports the antenna with optional rivets; screws, washers and locking nuts follow the Garmin installation drawings. The mounting location must be flat with no gap between skin and doubler. Garmin supplies antenna doublers for installations under US AML STC SA02018SE-D, which is not EASA approval in itself: on an aircraft registered in an EASA state the installation needs an approved modification and a Certificate of Release to Service. Fit depends on the antenna model and the aircraft type.
